Two of the most successful laugh-out-loud operas in the repertoire. Composed in 1945, Poulenc’s surreal opera Les Mamelles de Tiresias tells of the Wife who changes sex to obtain power among men. Gianni Schicchi, Puccini’s last completed opera, is a dark comedy whose eponymous hero tricks a family of mourners into parting with their inheritance.
Oskar sings the roles of Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi and Le Gendarme in Les Mamelles de Tiresias.
